Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Hello,
I am new and I registered here because I bought a Mosin Nagant M44 (from Poland).
I want to shoot with him at 50m, how do I change the rifle grain?
Where can I find an adjustable rifle grain?
Greeting Stefan

Do you mean different bullet weights? 150 grain or 180 grain are standard military loads.Peperonie71 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 9:01 am Hello,

Hello,
the translation program probably translated wrong :-)
I mean the front sight, there is one for from 100m installed and if I shoot 50m I must have a longer front sight.

The easiest thing to do is get some black shrink tubing, like goes around wire splices. This is available at auto parts stores. Put a piece on the sight, shrink it down, then trim to the correct height for the distance you are shooting.

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
i was thrilled to find your site! about 25 years or more i bought a case of mosins i have done hours of research (has been fun and interesting) and have learned much but have barely scratched the surface. seems the more i search the less i know... the rifles are all Finnish. most of the rifles are not exactly what i have found in my search to be correct. they have one or two differences from what i have read. all the rifles are early models if i am correct in identifying them. 1)mod 24 1)mod 27 2)mod 28 2)mod 28/30 . my Question is, how i can accurately i.d. these rifles. i can take a lot of pictures of one rifle at a time and send them to the appropriate place (maybe here, you have the most info i have found on a forum) it would great if i could find a (real mosin guy) to do a hands-on inspection. what do you think would be best way to accurately i.d. these historic rifles. any comments or suggestions are welcome, thank you

Greetings everyone! Very pleased to have stumbled upon this site. I have "discovered"a 1933 Mosin Nagant in my father's belongings. The rifle is in need attention and I am hoping to benefit from the experience of other here. I "think" this rifle is a Spanish Civil War Mosin Nagant.
