Bad, real bad

Post by steelbuttplate »

I've got a Crescent double barrel 12 ga on the way and it won't get here on time. This winter storm is starting to look a lot like the blizzard of '93. We're forecast 8-12" and 20+ on the mountain ridges. It's been 10 yr's since our last decent snow, but this one looks like one big fubar blackout maker.

The weather is crazy. We are still sitting here without a single frost and it is almost three months late. It will be Spring again in a few weeks and we will have gone from Fall to Spring without passing go. Be careful in the inclement weather.

Good luck with your double barrel. I like the old hardware store shotguns and many have passed through my modest collection over the years, at the present time, I am down to one single shot Forehand .16 gauge. I like the .16 gauge, it kicks like a .12 and hits like a .20. ;)

Something sounds suspicious about what you say, sounds like Seminole. :shifty:

I have at least ten of them with various names on them, New Empire, Knickerbocker, American Gun Co, and so on. Been accumulating them for 40 years, these old doubles once graced every scrap yard office and farmhouse in America. Back in the day before everyone started thinking they needed an AR, or some fancy ass pistol to defend themselves. Good old double, shitbag gets to watch while you thumb back the hammers then give them both barrels, messy. Twist barrels? Flat or coil mainsprings? Coach gun?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I suspect that a lot of people were conceived on that day too. You gotta stay warm...

I certainly live in Seminole country, and I worked my last ten years at FSU, I live 35 miles from Doak Campbell Stadium (the brick cathedral to football) but, I ain't a Seminole or a fan of the tribe. In fact, I have grown to not care about college sports at all. I think that this may be the first year that I didn't watch any football, none, zip, nada and I didn't miss it a damn bit.

One thing about it Jim, they only get to watch it once. ;)

The Crescent that I had had a modern steel barrel and coil springs. I was trying to think of where it got off to, but I think that it now resides in my son's safe.

I just came in from walking the dog and damned if my blueberries aren't flowering. Just in time... Looks like we will finally get frost on Tuesday and then several times over the following week. Winter comes to North Florida at last. We need to get some cold to keep things in balance, so I am glad to see it.

You must be a fireball. I was out the first night of the '93 blizzard in a front end loader, keeping intersections in town pushed out. It would lightning and Boom, transformers blew with a blue fireball and Boom, and my buddy driving the town area snowplow would backfire with a fireball in an '88 Ford 650 Boom. BOOM . BOOM. It was a :cool2: night to be out fucking around in a blizzard.
