Pocket guns
I've carried all these over the years. My first was the .22 single shot derringer, it saved me from a pit bull attack. Most people would call me undergunned with a .22, but ease of carry, accuracy, and 11 rounds, I feel plenty safe with this Phoenix in my pocket. It's just plain fun to shoot too.

Re: Pocket guns
Nothing wrong with a .22 pistol if you place your shots properly and at a reasonable range for a short barrel. Nice collection.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Nice collection. I currently use a Glock 23 Gen 3 as my carry gun. Today I picked up a S&W 9 2.0 Compact. Once I try it out at the range and if everything is good I'll include it in the carry rotation.

NIce grouping!
I am getting thin on pocket guns. I gave my son my Beretta Minx for Christmas. That leaves me with a Baby Browning, a Raven, S&W bodyguard revolver and a Colt Cobra. Don't laugh about the Raven, that is a cheap Saturday Night Special that works...

Re: Pocket guns
Raven's, I knew a shithead who was caught smuggling Ravens up from down south in the early 2000's. He was selling them to the gangs in a few small citys downstate. It wasn't the guns that got him, it was the several keys of blow he got taken down with on the side of 95 someplace in Georgia by the DEA. The guns were found with him and added to the charges. Far as I know they sold well, if they hadn't worked the bangers would have killed him, I thought of ending him myself on several occasions, but self control got the better of me. Just as well or he would have missed the prison time that I believe he is still enjoying.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 4:40 pm NIce grouping!

Re: Pocket guns
Over on the wrong side of town one day, in the 70's, an old white guy and old black guy get into a fight. The black guy ends up pulling a .25 and shoots the old white drunk 8 times up and down his back, ass and legs. While the nurses back was turned at the ER, the shot up old drunk escapes and goes off to town seeking revenge. Does a Raven hold 8 ?

You made me get up and go look. My Raven mag holds six. That .25 really just pissed the old guy off. I wonder why he wouldn't have just stayed and finished it while he was at it. ;)steelbuttplate wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:25 am Over on the wrong side of town one day, in the 70's, an old white guy and old black guy get into a fight. Small calibers lost their advantage with the advance of medicine starting after WWI. Before then, you could get shot with a .22 short, through your dirty clothes and get a raging infection that would only cool down on your trip across the river Jordan.

The .32 shorts, used to be called vest pocket guns, used in lots of Saturday night shootouts around here in the early 1900's. It was said you could survive getting shot by one if it didn't hit you in the mouth or eye.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 2:44 pmYou made me get up and go look. My Raven mag holds six. If it penetrated to the gut, you were a goner though. A couple of days for the infection to get going then about 3 to five days of suffering before sepsis put you in the grave. During the Civil War, a gut or head wound was almost always fatal. Not much changed between the Civil War and WWI.
A lot of small calibers and light loads, used as intended send a creature over the river Jordan. I think back to the days of slaughtering cows. .22 short out of a single shot rifle was what we used on a 8-900 pound cow. They would drop like you landed a tank on them.
