Another local gun store find for me: one very nice looking Type 99.

Only thing it was missing was the monopod and I was able to obtain a reproduction one from Sarco for about $25. The condition of the rifle is very good, so it is worth the price I paid ($950 with tax included). According to the information that came with the rifle, it was made at the Tokyo Kogyo arsenal as a Series 30 Type 99.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Does the dust cover match? Airplane sights intact? Looks pretty sweet. Very nice example.
Dust cover finish matches and the airplane sights are intact. The dealer I got it from is one of only two REAL gun shops left in Tucson-shops that have decent selections of used guns and where you can trade and haggle on prices. Every other shop pushes new guns.
