CMP service grade

Post by steelbuttplate »

Ordered Apr. 01, received Aug. 16. It was worth the wait. I think they could have sold this as a special grade with a new stock. The arsenal measurements qualify it, and the metal is all excellent. The action is tight. This was '54 LC and 70's POF ammo. I gotta get a couple boxes of match ammo and try it.

Special Grade means it has a new production barrel. Above Service Grade is Correct or Collector Grade. CMP Garands have been pretty nice lately. Congrats. I got an early WWII 5 Digit SA rearsenaled for Korea with late WWII cartouched stock and untouched after that. As well as WWII WRA with original WRA barrel and cartouched post war stock both as service grades.

Very nice. Did you luck out and get a USGI stock with it? I bought a service grade IHC and a field grade Winchester and HRA back in 2018 and I lucked out with USGI stocks on all three. A lot of people were getting Hackberry stocks on their CMP guns when the Phillipine returns hit.
