Hey guys after a few years away building modern rifles in mostly AR-15 platforms I’ve returned to my surplus roots and dig out some of my old spam cans before heading to the range. I’ve come across this can I got in trade a few years back and cannot pin point the origin of the rounds. Can is marked “7.62 CL St” “K2 35/52 “
Can has 330 rds in 15 rds paper bundles tied in string. Yellow tip lacquered cases. Headstamps are 52 across from 15 with 11 across from a circular decal. Let me know what you think.
Lacquered Surplus? Where is it from?

Re: Lacquered Surplus? Where is it from?
I "THINK" Yellow tipped ammo is Bulgarian if I remember right.
I know that because I have 10 of those cans of ammo I bought years ago for around $40 a can.
I can swear they were 440 rounds a can, but I could be wrong.
I think it is heavy ball 7.62 x 54r
If you post a photo of the cartridge and especially the primer end, I can confirm it.
I am not going to go dig out my cans to see if they match. They are buried deep under other ammo.

Yellow tip is heavy ball. Approx 180 grains. If it has silver as well it is steel core.

Thank you for the info, I guess we’ll send it down range then.

WARNING: If you have been shooting a light ball ammo, your shoulder will not like this yellow tip stuff.
