Handguard Removal Tool?

Post by ffuries »

I kept seeing references to a Handguard Removal Tool, when I started collecting the parts for my 604 build. Saw it so many times I finally had to Google it, to see what it is/was. I never in my time in used one or heard of one, we just put our assss behind them and removed them by hand.

Is this a commercial designed tool or a legit tool, used by the military....? I tried to Google that and couldn't find a definitive answer. What say yall?

I just remove it by hand.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Ditto, just curious if it was a commercial thing or if it is used in the military.

The Delta ring has a pretty strong spring, so the handguard removal tool just helps you to pull it back without breaking your fingers in the process. Don't know if the military armorers have a similar tool. I have one and it works well.
