VKT sniper rifles - did they exist?
VKT sniper rifles - did they exist?
Recently I saw one quite trusted dealer was selling a 1940 VKT sniper rifle. It was equipped with Soviet scope, mount and base. All part were legit, but I’ve never come across any info on Finnish built sniper rifles with Finnish rifle and Soviet sniper parts. So, is it a stateside built gun or there were truly genuine Finn built sniper rifles with Soviet scopes?

Re: VKT sniper rifles - did they exist?
What model rifle are you talking about?
M1931, M91/30, M27, M28, M28/30, M39?
What mount was it using?
PU, PE, or PEM.
They called their mounts M39 PH, M39 SOV, M43.
Some of these they made less then 100.
What scope was on it?
Only sniper rifle I know the Finn's made were all M39's.
And they are as rare as hen's teeth.
VKT is a manufacturer. They made M39's.
Finn's never used a Russian PU mount.
Just not enough information (or photos).

VKT SOV's / top mount PE or PEM scopes where built on 1942 VKT rifles. M39/43's, top mount Ajacks scopes, I believe are of the same time frame. If it is a pu scope set up it is a bubba.

Yeah, it was sold by Charlie’s Checkpoint and had a PU on it. So I told him it a bs put-together, but he was like - really? How do you know? He listed it for $2k+, but it’s not on the site anymore. Maybe sold, maybe he removed it... but his reputation is quite good, so I decided to ask the most knowledgeable people

Ha, I actually managed to find a cached version of the page. Will attach it just for future reference, but from your points guys it’s clear that it’s a bubba.
Btw are you guys going to SOS?
Here is the page of the gun:

It's an M91, a total fantasy piece IMHO.
As to the SOS, I will miss the July show, but am planning on going to the final Knob Creek Shoot in October.
