"New" old racecar hits the track

Post by racerguy00 »

My son and I put together a 36 Ford coupe bodied dirt modified racer to dabble in a local vintage racing series. Made it out Sunday. Had a blast. Finished on the lead lap and in one piece, not bad for never driving one of these before.

We built it to resemble as much as we could my late grandfather's 37 Ford that he won a championship with in '57.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Saturday night back in the '50s was going to the "Hardtops" with mom and dad. My best friend then was Johnny Serpa, his dad was the local favorite.

Looks like you switched the flathead. Nothing like a dirt track.
