High Prices on Civil Guard M39s

Post by Willchef »

Just saw the auction below close yesterday for $1850
😳

Beautiful rifle and the serial number is only a few hundred away from my 44' m39 civil guard. What's up with the prices? Have civil guards always been this high or is this a recent phenomenon?

May be the prices are going up, but I think some of it is because of the stripping on the stock also.

what is odd to me is, it has the splice of a war time stock, but looks like it has the finish of a post war replacement stock.

Very strange. I have a Tika M39 (which is pretty rare) and it has the same finish and splice as this one does. This is common for a Tika M39, but not for a SKY. Odd.

Wish I had a stripped on like that!

That's tempting but I am perfectly happy with my civil guard m39. Got to focus on adding a 1903 and s/42 mauser to the collection now 😁

I remember when I was buying these weekly for under $200.
