Milsurp bug bit

Post by SA1911a1 »

I rode with my son to the FFL to pick up a gun for him and I got distracted by this old thing in the counter. I passed on these when they were everywhere at around $150.00, This is 1953 made gun with military markings, no refurb marks and it is in superb condition. We came home and shot the siliouite target at 50 yards and I was killing it. It has a manly trigger, but I still shot it well. That 7.62 x 25 surplus was really ringing the bell on the target, you could tell how hard it was getting smacked. It is hard to go wrong with a Czech made pistol. It came with the accessories and I didn't have to pay a tourist price for it, so I am happy.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Great score, did you get the pistol lanyard also?

When I found mine, it came with the holster, cleaning rod, 2 magazines, pistol lanyard, a manual, and 100 rounds of surplus ammo.

Does yours have the original firing pin or is it one of the new made ones?

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

These are great pistols, if you have small hands they can be a little challenging. I have two of these, one in 7.62X25 and one in 9mm.

No lanyard, no ammo. I have not detail stripped it, but I assume that it has the original firing pin. I will leave it until it breaks.

Here you go Steve, so you know what to look for when you get around to tearing it down.
