WASR-M....?

Post by ffuries »

Never noticed them before, but when I do an online search for WASR it seems there are a ton of these WASR-Ms (9mm) out there for sale.

Are these a new thing or have they been around for a while and I just didn't notice them? I've seen the WASR-22 at gun shows and local gun shops, but never the WASR-M.

I've never noticed them before either. I had to Google it to see what they looked like lol. I can't say that I've seen one in person either.

Apparently the WASR-M came out in 2000, per Wiki.

"The WASR-M is a 2020 variant of the popular WASR line of rifles imported/manufactured by Century Arms. The rifle came as a response to the pistol caliber carbine trend that sprouted up between the late 2010's and the early 2020's. Utilizing a direct blowback mechanism, the WASR-M is chambered in 9mm Luger, and feeds from Glock pattern magazines."

Interesting. I was unaware of the WASR-22 too. I did know that GSG (German Sport Guns) made a .22 AK rifle.
