Finally picked up a Tulskiy MN PU Izhevsk 1944, seems original, bore is okay

Post by Rtop01 »

Gents,

Huge kudos to all members of this forum, as I mentioned in the post before special thanks to Darryl & Miller. With all the knowledge I gathered from this forum I finally picked up Tuslkiy MN PU Izhevsk 1944. Looking all original refurb with a replacement scope. 2 concerns - trigger is a little sloppy, doesn't feel much different from another MN 1926 that I have. And finally the bore - bright and shinny all the way but at the muzzle. But bore scope is showing a different picture, groves and land are still good, although I know that you gotta shoot it to see if it is really critical :) Not sure about the stock, since woodwork is a little rougher than I expected.

Please let me know what you guys think, since I can still return it :) A ton of pictures below.

Congrats sir, nice looking PU, i found with mine that 147gr Czech Siver tip LB ammo is great stuff out to 500yds, beyond that PPU 182gr match ammo from 600 yds and out.

Darryl even let you off the hook for calling it a Tula Ishevsk.

Nice PU, Rtop01! :vcool:

Great pics of it also.

Izhevsk or Tula were the arsenals that made the Mosins.

Tulsky is a exporter who received them way after WWII (probably recently) and exported them.

It was made by the Izhevsk arsenal during WWII (not a Tula).

Tulsky is inconsequential except to help prove it it real.

And it turned out to be a great shooter too!
