PE Sniper?

Post by DocAitch »

In my accumulation is the following rifle.
I am not exactly sure of the manufacturer because I haven’t pulled the scope mount to see the entire front receiver but I believe its an Izhvesk round receiver with a “C” on top. I am somewhat reluctant to pull this apart, not wanting to booger anything.
The scope has a focus adjustment so I’m thinking PE.
Because of the “brand newness” this could be a later addition of this scope to this rifle.
I would appreciate your thoughts.
I can try to get more photos if you need them.

It's a Coles reproduction built on a 43 Izhevsk 91/30, total fantasy piece.

Thank you.
I thought so after reading a bit in the knowledge base here.
The disparity in the condition of the scope and rifle, the roughness of the machining of the receiver, and the lack of an “H” to go along with the peculiar “C” all pointed to that.
Is the scope genuine or a reproduction? Most of the info in the knowledge base shows the PU scope.

That peculiar "C" was stamped on all Coles reproductions to prevent someone from passing it of as legit.
