Norinco NP762

Post by Sonny »

Holy Geez Louise I sold all of my made in China guns including my H&R pump 20 gauge made in the PRC because well because they are made in China.

So now I bought another made in China gun. A Norinco NP762. They say it's a clone of a Sig 226,a cheap clone maybe.lol So first impressions are pretty good. It comes with two 17 round mags but they are pinned to 10 rounds as per our gun laws. It feels nice in the hand but damn that's a beefy grip. Some one with small hands might have some comfort problems but it fits me good.
The sights are just a plain three dot with windage adjustments but no elevation adjustments. The trigger has a lot of travel but then it breaks nice and easy.
I have to wait for the guberment to send me the paper work before I can take it to the range. Meanwhile I'll strip it down and give it a good cleaning. Yes the darn thing came wrapped in plastic and covered in oil. I just gave it a quick wipe down so I could take some pics.

Range report will come later.

*edited* to add that there is a rail underneath for a light or whatever which is cool and also came with spare trigger and slide spring. My cost was with taxes $334 CDN plus free shipping.

You sold all your Made in China guns for the reason that they were made in China, not necessarily because they were crap. You then go buy a Made In China gun.......There are pills for this sort of thing nowadays.

Never spent much time staring at the last donut in a box, I just dive for it, grab it, and scarf it down without any particular consideration, just normal procedure.

That 7.62X25 is a snappy round, it should be fun in that small frame.

Down here, if we didn't buy stuff that was made in China, or made from parts that came from China, we wouldn't be buying anything.

I bought a Norinco Tokarev chambered for 9mm 9x19 when they hit the US in the early 90's it was a hundred bucks. The manual stated that the pistol should be considered "worn out" after 500 rounds of service, I sold it soon after. I have always wondered how many other people read the manual with those and noticed that product disclaimer?

Well the government papers that say I'm a legal beagle to own this pistol came in the mail today and off to the range I went. Funny how crooks and thugs don't worry about being legal but it's the legal gun owners who are in the governments sights. hmm
So we have good news and bad news.. First the bad news.
Who ever put the dimple in the mag to pin it to ten rounds screwed up as I can only get nine rounds in one and barely get ten in the other but it's very very tight. Atleast once every mag I get a failure to feed. Have to rack the slide again to pick up the next round. I don't know for sure but maybe it's because it isn't broken in yet? Now the good news..

This thing shoots pretty darn good and like Longcolt said the 7.62X25 is very snappy.

I'm no marksman but this target was at 15 yards and I was using my shooting bag as a rest.

I don't have a Norinco 762 but I have two Norinco Mod. 1911 A1 .45's and a Norinco 213 in 9mm. I bought these pieces when they were priced a little over $100 each. I've never had any trouble with any of them. The .45's shoot just as well as my 1911 A1 RIA and the triggers are excellent, releasing the hammers at just below 3.0 pounds pull.
