COVID Lockdown Insanity Parody Song.....

Post by ffuries »

This parody of Bonny Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart is too damn funny and so true for people with kids at home still....Who would have thought an 80s power ballad could be turned into a pandemic parody song!

At least I have a fairly large compound to rattle around in, I can't imagine what it's like to be stuck in one house, or small apartment for a whole fucking year. I have a phonograph collector in London who is telling me he left his apartment for the first time in a year to go across the street to get the " jab" Covid vaccine shot. A whole year stuck in one small apartment, that's when the Russian Roulette games start.

Just one small change to the lyrics..."We're totally fu*ked where we are." That and I don't like the way my female cat has been eying me. I hear they start with the cheeks as they are usually soft and easy to digest.

I ever tell you the story about my old customer who passed suddenly and got eaten by his cats? He lived alone and wasn't found right away, not for a week, a friend of mine was on a well drilling crew working next door, the guys smelled something funny while on lunch in the back yard. They followed the smell, looked in a window next door and that was it for lunch, not a pretty sight after days in the July heat and the cat activity. The guy bought a replacement back window glass for his 1969 Cadillac just a week before that. Lessons to take away from this story, put in a cat door, have someone check on you daily, at least a phone call, don't be a cat hoarder, one or two will do, and keep the food dish full at all times. Pat said that smell clung to all of them, even the smokers couldn't get it out of their nose, few things worse than human decomp smell.

Unfortunately, I know about dead body smell. In the late 60's I worked for a company that retrieved airplanes that crashed. I worked in the water retrieval unit. The bad part of the job was if there were bodies in the plane they had to be taken out before we could raise the plane. Fortunately, there were not a lot of these Jobs. The one I remember was when two doctors were headed somewhere but right after take of something went wrong and they did a nose dive into San Francisco bay. My partner Bob and I went down and found four bodies not two. We stuffed bodies and parts into body bags and took them one by one to the shore. Unknown to us the family's were there to identify the Docs but in the first bag they opened the "doctor" had long blond hair.

In Nov, 1968 I did all the underwater work picking this Japan Airliner out of San Francisco bay. No casualties, 108 passengers walked away with a good story.

Back around '86 we were having litter pick up week on the highways, some of the crew noticed a black garbage bag "ball with duct tape on it, about 50 feet off below the highway in an old dumping spot. The smell from up the road would take your lunch away. A deputy came and said "when the coroner gets here, we will need help carrying it out, so pull off right up there and wait. I eased on up the highway but forgot to pull off. We went on to another road. It turned out to be a murdered woman from Charlotte NC.

What an interesting job Longcolt! Those added "unexpected" bodies added a little misery to their grief. I'm very thankful to have no idea about 'that' smell.
