Tikka knowledge needed.

Modern rifles and Sportsters are discussed here.

Sportsters:
We don't advocate making Sportsters from military surplus rifles. We do recognize the ones already made in years past as pieces of history and of importance (such as the Bannerman, Blindee and old custom sportsters). If you bought one, you may show it here. Discussion of how to do this kind of work is not allowed. It is contrary to our over all forum values. So please don't abuse this forum. All final decisions will be made by the Administrators and no one else please. Non permanent alterations may be shown here but keep in mind, if it is in conflict with the "spirit" of these forums, we may remove it at our discretion.

Tikka knowledge needed.

Post by steelbuttplate »

I've bought a T03 Tikka made in Tula Russia. 7.62 NATO, 10 or 15 round box mag. What I can find on them says Tikkas are made in Finland by Sako. The Cyrillic Name printed on it translates to "Rossi" . Anybody know anything about these.? I'll get pics when it gets here .

Tikka is Finnish. Rossi comes from Brazil..

I looked up Tikka T3, and it shows a Finnish made bolt action. I don't know what you have on the way.

The Tula. The sights are OK, but I'll have to scope it.. Based on how I shot with the sights, it will be a good shooter. The magazine is 6 rounds, reminds me of an Enfield mag. It's not brand new, but it's not broken in either. The front sight (fuzzy pic) is SKS style. The receiver has a 16 mm groove for scope mounts set off to the left a little to permit using the sights or scope. It will be funny looking scoped but I've gotta try it.

I still can't find another one or any info on them. The dovetail for the scope is 12 mm. I'll get some pictures of it with scope mounted, I like it offset. The scope comes up naturally right in front of your eye when you shoulder it . You don't have to lay your cheek bone on the stock either.
