Post Storm Beauty.....

Post by ffuries »

We had a squall line come through and it's been raining since 0900 at least, then around 1730 it started clearing up just in time for sunset.

Here's the results. The one picture shows the eagle topper of the flag pole, had to take the flag down yesterday as it was shredded by the winds we've been getting.

The morning after hurricane Floyd, the Sunrise at Seymor Johnson AFB was the same, but the whole sky was dotted with cotton ball clouds and all glowing fiery gold. It lit up Goldsboro in a strange light. Better than a Pink Floyd show. :cool2:

We didn't get fiery skies after Hurricane Michael, but the setting sun did make Ole Glory glow. This was evening after Michael slammed us.

Nice, mostly cloudy here all week until now.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

True, takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it.

We'll be getting more rain as Tropical Storm Zeta, which is in the Gulf of Mexico, is predicted to strengthen into a Cat 2 hurricane and come ashore Wednesday.

I wish you guys would stop having hurricanes, it's screwing up the weather here in Ohio. Oh wait, I forgot, this is Ohio. If you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes, it'll change to something you may like better.

Same here. Ohio valley weather is the best.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
