I posted about how / if I should put a finish on the stock of my Remington. So far "don't touch it is in the lead" lol. Anyway, I am at a loss as to what to call it, from a technical standpoint. Going through the identification quizzes online doesn't get me anywhere but a model 91, nothing about the Finns.
Here's what I know off the top of my head:
Remington
1917
longer than my 91/30's by a few inches (I'm not near a tape measure)
Has a Finnish stock with the more rounded splice.
Can get more crappy pics if needed. Will post markings, numbers also.
Thanks for all the help.
OK, so just what is it ?

Does it have the Finnish pine tar finish on it now? If so, "Don't touch it".

If it has a Remington marked barrel and fits into the stock in the pictures than it's a Remington made M91 that ended up in Finland and had the original stock replaced during refurbishment by the Finn's.
Re: OK, so just what is it ?
That is a Finnish replacement stock .I would leave it alone.
Re: OK, so just what is it ?
It's what some people refer to as a Finned M91. As said it's a US made Remington M91 rifle that ended up in Finland.
