Acquired this 91/30 today.
My first Ex-Sniper and appears to be an Ex-PE Sniper. Both sides of the receiver appear to show grinding marks, but the rifle appears to be in an Ex-PU stock. Typical post-war stock so I didn’t show rest of the rifle.
All matching except for the bolt, which I’d expect was changed out and won’t match.
It was listed as a Hex Ex, and wasn’t expecting the PU stock. Am I seeing this rifle correctly?
Thanks.

I've not focused much on the snipers--especially the PE and PEM as I've never expected to buy one. I think yours is a PE sniper. As for the stock, it's hard to tell if that is a repair for the scope mount cut out or just a regular repair. I think we'd need photos of the whole stock as well as the cartouche on the right side of the butt stock.

I’ve added more photos of the rifle. Any particular additional photos I’d be glad to show. Thanks. Prof

For kicks and giggles, remove the bolt and photo the inside of the of the receiver, focusing on the right and left side.

I've seen that type of repair on quite a few refurbs and I think I've got a couple of them. I originally thought that this was an ex-sniper repair too but when I posted that comment, I was severely chastised
I guess, since then, when I see a repair like this, I assume it's just a repair. I like the looks of that stock though. Matter of fact the gun looks non-refurbished although I'm not sure what the stamp is to the right of the s/n on the shank. Never seen that one before and haven't seen it cataloged as a refurb stamp. Nice gun

Very nice Bill. I like it alot. The crossed hammer stamp by the serial number is a Riga, Latvia refurb mark iirc.

It's a post war stock. Looks like there is a crack from the crossbolt. I'd guess it's a stock repair.
