My Mosin is a 1915 I've had since the 80's and is the oldest firearm I have.
I did find the boxed SA on the side of the barrel shank which my understanding means it was sent to Finland.
The barrel shank has matching 6 digit serial numbers but the magazine has 2 different stamped sets of 5 digit numbers. I don't know if those are assembly numbers or something else. I read SN should be on stock, butt plate and rear site but mine doesn't have any numbers on them.
Where are serial numbers supposed to be?
Here are some pics of the numbers and markings on it.

Re: Looking to find more info.
The two numbers on the magazine are serial numbers. Someone just forgot to strike the old one out when re-numbering it, although neither match the rifle which isn't uncommon. Rear sights weren't marked with a serial numbers (That I know of), stocks typically weren't either, buttplates were but it's not uncommon to find one unmarked or scrubbed.
Correct the Box SA is a Finnish Army property mark. The Bow & Arrow marking on the one barrel band is an Izhevsk Arsenal marking. Russian Mosin Nagants were made by Tula, Izhevsk, New England Westinghouse, Remington, Sestroryetsk and Châtellerault.
Your rifle is as you know a New England Westinghouse made M91.

Re: Looking to find more info.
These American made Mosin M91 rifles are quite difficult to find these days and worth many times what you would have paid in the early days of finding these. That is a very nice looking rifle you have, the condition is striking in my opinion.
Re: Looking to find more info.
First off, thank you for saying that the rifle was "sent to Finland". One thing that makes me cringe is people calling them "Finn captures" (not all Finnish rifles were captured by Finland). This isn't as bad as calling a magazine a clip--that's really causes me to cringe.jd50i wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 4:58 pm My Mosin is a 1915 I've had since the 80's and is the oldest firearm I have.

Most/all Finnish M91 rifles will only have a matching serial number on the bolt. It's rare to find an Imperial era Mosin used by Finland that is all matching (you might find a U.S. made rifle that is SA marked and all matching). Most rifles were cobbled together from working parts.
Your barrel bands have pins through them (at least the one in the photo does). These aren't common, and were Finnish modifications. I don't have any rifles with complete pins. From my understanding, they are difficult to remove and replace--and they usually break when removed. Most people advise to not remove them.

The pins are pretty hearty. I've had multiple bands with the pins in them.
