I've wanted a Luger a long time, never saw one at the right time. That changed when one became available locally. And I think I actually like this mismatched example even more than I would a matching or better condition safe-queen. This one will be a shooter for sure.
It was originally part of an early 20s Finn contract in 30 Luger caliber. After who knows how many Finn rebuilds it sits now with a fantastic Tikka barrel and has been converted to 9mm. There's a faint SA mark on the left side, no numbers I see match. It's got some bluing wear and pitz that were cleaned up and blued over during rebuild. Nothing I see matches, but it seems to function fine and is very accurate with some mild FMJs I had available.
This thing has seen a long life in Finn service and I really appreciate that history.

Re: Finn Contract M23 Luger
Nice. I'd love to find one someday. Well, I've found them, but having the disposable income to buy one is a different story. I like used guns better than safe queens as well. The only thing I did with safe queens was worry about damaging them or not oiling them often enough to prevent rust. That's a nice looking pistol.

Thats really nice. I have one with a shorter Tikka 9mm barrel. When converted, the Finns changed the official designation as well. All 9mm lugers are P08s. M23s were for the .30 luger caliber.
