Chiappa M1-9mm

Post by Sonny »

She's a fun little gun...…. pew pew pew :D

I watched a few youtube videos on this rifle and most guys were having feeding issues with this model. They'd fire a few shots and then they would have a failure to feed problem but most guys said this problem went away after they fired a couple hundred rounds. It comes with two Beretta mags pinned to ten rounds as per our laws.
Well I shot three boxes, one American Eagle 115gr, one American Eagle 124gr and one box Blazer 115gr with no issues at all, none whatsoever.
One thing I don't really like is all the plastic on this gun. The bayonet lug, rear sights, safety, mag housing are all plastic.

The rear sights need some adjusting as I was only hitting the 8 inch gong at 50 yards about 60 % of the time but it was only -14C / 7F degrees and my fingers were to cold to fiddle with them. I'll do that on a warmer day.

All in all I'm happy with it and like all guns this is fun to shoot.

Cool, I have one and it's fun as hell to shoot. Mine is very accurate at 50 yards. I love the way it hits the target with a solid "THAWP".

I think I found my sight problem. The windage is bang on and no problems there at all. The elevation adjustment is to simply slide the peep back or forth. Here's my problem. The peep slide is very loose and a good rap on the buttstock with my hand will actually move the slide.
I'm thinking a small dab of glue may fix it up. Or I could cut a small sliver of metal from a beer can and see if I could tap it under the peep to stiffen things up a bit.
I'm thinking I should try the beer can first before I make a mess with glue. :D

I like it. Never seen one before. I shoot a 9mm Hi Point 995 carbine and really enjoy the 9mm caliber for plinking. I am wondering, since this thread is a couple months old if the beer can shim fixed your moving sight? I bet it did. :)

I fixed it the Redneck way, tapped a toothpick under it and snapped the rest off, works like a charm.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
