Malaysian contract Mossberg 500ATP

Post by racerguy00 »

I never considered that I would pick up a surplus import marked pump gun one day but here it is. A quantity of these were recently imported out of Malaysia, you know how it is. I "had" to grab one. These were handled and abused a lot but seem to have been fired little. Reminds me of the Albanian t53 imports. This one cleaned up nice. Needs a safety button is all. Some are pretty rough. Early 80s manufacture.

Takes a standard m7 style bayonet. 7+1 shot. Parked barrel. The serial number has an ATM prefix which is the abbreviation for the Malaysian Armed Forces. Some also have tags etc with Malaysian writing.

They all need that safety button, Mossberg could have done better with that part of the design. I have replaced at least five over the years, cheap plastic. It doesn't look that beat up, about average for a police or military turn in shotgun, lots of life left in it.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Not bad! What was the damage? I wouldn't mind one myself...

Slightly more than two bills shipped. They can be found online cheaper but those need some work to get up and running.
