Re: frosted bore ???
I would describe a frosted bore as one that has very little shine and the surface of the grooves would resemble a freshly sandblasted surface. If you've got "cave crystals" I'd try cleaning with copper fouling solvent and also cleaning after shooting while the bore is hot. I've resurrected some really hopeless bores by cleaning at the range :-)

Re: frosted bore ???
Most milsurp bores will show some wear, or pitting, it's a consequence of being used in one or more major wars were corrosively primed ammo was what was shot in them. Sometimes it's not always possible of a soldier to clean his weapon daily. He might be dead, wounded badly, or in constant contact with the enemy
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
