Agreed. I can't tell anything from the 2 pics.

If I ever find a stock I can afford, I'll sell it with both stocks someday when I can't remember where I shit last.

How long is the barrel?
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Full length (stepped) original sight I think. I can get the rear base and sight for about $60. Hump me if you need to, I prefer relic rifle rescue. If these are good bores what kind of groups can you expect say at 60 yd.

SS contract rifles really aren't that rare. Single rune wrong stock is not going to bring you thousands even if in right stock. Even if all original in original stock you are looking at $1800. However for $215 you won't lose money.

I would leave it as is and use it. Lyman peep sight on the back of the receiver?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Yea, I might really like it. The Lyman is attached to the bridge, I'm not sure how. I'm waiting til I see the bore cleaned up before I do anything.

Agreed. Looks like an older conversion, back in the day. Time has made these collectable in their own right. Much like a rodded out Model A from the 1950's.

I'm looking at a k98 byf 44 with rune mark. I'm still here. One I should grab for the right price you think?
This question.
Absolutely the most faked of the Mausers out there. Go to the K98 Forums and ask the experts there. They will want detailed pictures.

There was nothing about a rune mentioned in the add. I saw a no brainer deal and maybe see some kind of mark. We shall see.
