Barrel question for build

Post by Karilane »

I have settled on the 18" barrel (was going back and forth between 18" vs. 20") as it seems like the best compromise of FPS, length, weight...etc. and don't lose too much. Probably a wash between the 18" vs. 20" in most things anyways.

Now my question is about barrels. As much as I would like to get a nice top of the line barrel, I just can't justify it at the moment. However I have found several barrels that I would be happy with. Is there a easy way for me to narrow the list down further, or do I just draw out of a hat at this point? Looking at:

Black Hole Weaponry vs. Satern Liberty vs. Odin Works vs. Spinta Precision.

Is there a way to narrow it down to what I should go with? I have read reviews of happy owners of all of them. Seems like a toss up at this point?

I think you are correct that it is a toss up. When I was building my AR I just happened to have a 20 inch FNH 1in7 twist barrel given to me, so I went with that. I have never really heard of any that will not shoot.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Where does CMP get those Criterion barrels that they use ? Are they made for AR's ?
P.S. apparently so for $300 . All AR calibers.

I bought a Spinta Precision barrel once. It shot as well as my Anderson barrel...
