I took the new BushMaster QRC to the range today.
It came with one 30 round mag pinned at 5 as per our stupid laws and a red dot sight. The red dot is totally useless if you ask me,I could barely see the dot at 20 yards on a white target. The bright sunshine may have had something to do with it but it's still going to be replaced with a low power scope.I'm thinking a 1.5 - 4.5x maybe.
I did fire 40 rounds into the backstop to test the function and it preformed flawlessly as it should.
And there will always be people who say "Why do you need an AR?" My answer is..
"Well I don't NEED an AR and I also don't NEED a whiney little sniveler but yet here you are.
It's a fun little toy and I'm open to suggestions on some good optics.

Hi Sonny. Hey I think something could be wrong with your red dot. Batteries? Or defective? You should be able to see it on a sunny day if it is working properly and turned to the brighter setting. I have a cheaper model on my Anderson flat top rifle and I can see it. How are your eyes for flip up sights? We have a lot of options huh? I like the scopes like you mentioned. I have a larger scope that I mounted to a quick release mount and going to try it, but i have not bore sighted it yet. The top rifle is my Bushmaster.

Since this is a Bushmaster thread Sonny, I thought I would show you my latest acquisition, a Bushmaster h-bar carbine I grabbed at a gun show recently. This thing had no signs of use except a mag or 2 perhaps. It has a couple little scratches in the underneath side of the upper grab handle where it seems to have hung on a wall? I had to have it for the classic M4 looks that I like so much. I added the Magpul collapsible stock recently.

Re: BushMaster QRC
Hmm I never thought about a low battery as this one was straight out of the package but I'll try a new one.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I hope it works.
Re: BushMaster QRC
Well a new battery did help but I swapped the red dot for a Bushnell 1x - 4x BDC scope.
It isn't a top of the line scope but I can hit the 300 yard gong 3 times out of 5 which isn't as good as a bolt gun but better than the red dot.

I didn't even realize you could buy an AR or AK in Canada. Guess I need to learn a little about Canadian gun laws, although I was aware of the five-round limit on semi-autos. One thing is for sure, I won't be bringing my AK with a full 30-round magazine across the Canadian border any time soon, cause I hear those Mounties are pretty tough customers, and I don't feel like spending any vacation time in a Canadian prison or court. Nice rifle you have, Sonny. I don't own a Bushmaster, but have heard good things about them. My only two AR's are Colts.

Yeah you best leave the AK south of the border or you could be in big doodoo. The cops frown on that kind of stuff.tjtM38 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 1:58 pm I didn't even realize you could buy an AR or AK in Canada. Our gun laws may seem strict by your standards but atleast we are not as bad off as Britain or Australia. Here we can have ARs but they fall into the same category as handguns. Meaning they are restricted and must be registered and we can only shoot them at an approved range. It's a stupid law because we can hunt with other semi autos but not ARs, It's because they are black and we all know that black guns are the scary guns.
Yes our mags have to be pinned to five rounds but that only applies to law abiding people because anyone up to no good will simply drill out the rivet and go crazy with a 30 rounder.
If the Zombie Apocalypse ever starts then my mags will be drilled.

Had a range day today and had a blast.
I'm really starting to like this Bushnell scope. Did some more tweaking and now it's shooting not to bad. Consistently hitting the 300 yard gong and 4 out of 5 on the 400 yard gong. The 500 yard gong I'm not to sure about. I need a spotter on the spotting scope but I think I did hit it a couple of times. Oh well don't matter because I had fun.
