marlin 39A

Post by millman »

Just out of curiosity, I looked at the Marlin factory website to see what was up with the current 39A models. Apparently they are only available through the "Custom Shop". Check out the MSRP. https://www.marlinfirearms.com/custom-s ... -39a-fancy Everyone that already has one, take it out, love on it, shoot it.

I was wrong, we have 3 Marlin Model 336 in 30-30 also one Glenfield Model 30 in 30-30. My Marlin 39A story is I traded one to my boss at the time in the Harley shop for a Czech Mauser, a Yugo SKS and a Romanian Trainer which was the start for me to begin collecting Milsurps.

What do the 336s go for?

Well, as the gun business goes, this afternoon we bought a Marlin 39A Mountie, a smaller version of the full size 39A. The 336 and the 39A Mountie both sell for $595.00. Road trip M??

I better not, just curious. Although research that Mountie. $595 might be cheap for that.

I picked up a 336 RC about 5 years ago in what I would call excellent condition for 300$. Have they really increased in value that much in the last 5 years

What I see is that any of the pre crossbolt safety Marlin lever actions bring a premium. The regular post safety ones are what they are. The new pricing on the M39 .22 rifles seems to be that they are now a custom shop item and not regular production. Lack of demand is probably the reason.

Less expensive options like the Henry have probably hurt sales of the 39's. Henry is quite popular these days.
