City water? That the one they put chemicals in it and then charge you by the gallon? They got that type of water down in New York City, that water they pay for comes from up here. Upstaters piss in it, bet you somebody is doing that to wherever your city water comes from also  It's that added " special" flavor that nobody can quite put their finger on what it is, then they boast their water is the best tasting in the world... :chuckles:

With all the peeing that's been done in the last 400 yrs, We are all bound to be drinking recycled pee in some form. And then there's horse pee, cow pee, and with global warming we are starting to get polar bear and eskimo pee. :pee-contest: They just said on TV not to pee on a jelly fish sting, so you folks that go to the beach quit doing that.

Now mates, this is no April Fool's joke.

NYC water is not kosher. How can water not be kosher, you ask? It cheweth not the cud, nor divideth the hoof.

There is no Mosin ban. There are restrictions on imports from Russia still, I think, but I think they are still being brought in from the Ukraine. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Well I guess no more April Fools jokes from me for you guys. I assumed and guess most of you got the joke but many people in this day and age apparently don't have normal readers comprehension to recognize a joke or pun so I must apologize for the lack of it and will no longer post any.

Most of the rifles we are seeing in the way of refurbs are rifles distributers stashed away and are being brought out to make the money they counted on from their stashing actions. Normal distributer action and yes to be expected as they want to make as much money as they can too. I can get cases of them if I want but I won't sell any at the prices offered. I understand there were quite a few at lower prices at the Washington County gun show in Pa. so maybe they are finally realizing current refurb prices are greatly inflated and do not represent a true value of the rifle but merely a supply and demand figure. Shows have been getting poorer and poorer with crowds being up but no one paying the prices and buying anything around here. I guess that is a sign of a finally educated buying public not going to pay ridiculous prices? Time will tell. Bill :o

Educated public? In what country? If shit isn't selling then pack them away and sit on them for a few years. The math doesn't lie, there are millions of potential customers who want a Mosin, supply even if imports resume at 2005 rates will not come close to covering that demand. Many who do not have the cash for a Mosin today will have it in a few years. I didn't have the cash for an M1 Garand in 1981, and I was one of the guys at the shows looking and not buying, but I owned nine of them by 1995 when I had more disposable cash to spend on guns.

I don't think we need to question folks reading comprehension, I think it was more of a newbie not seeing the date stamp of the original post.

Light iron was about $15.00 a ton in ‘95, I bet you could afford a Garrand a day in 2005

Is that when the Garands hit the market ? '81 ? Did I see war babies in stores in the late 60's 70's ?

No, they started hitting the market from Brazil, South Korea, and other places by the late 80's into the early 90's. In '81 you had DCM, and dealing with other collectors who would sometimes let go of a nice M1 when they needed another new BMW, and Armani suit.

In '95 we made most of our money providing parts to keep 70's, and 80's shitbox's going, and they broke often. We crushed the remaining shells after they were stripped of usable items, Today most of our limited profits are made from scrap because people forgot how to use tools, or never learned in the first place. Now when the vehicle craps out it's sent to the dealer or other repair facility who make a nice markup on new parts so don't bother with used ones.
