M1A

Post by steelbuttplate »

This is my rifle. There are many more like it, but this one is mine. At 62, I can see the sights better on this one than any rifle I have, and it's accuracy is super.

Sweet.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

That is the one I want to take into the apocalypse. Well my AR15 and a bunch of ammo would be easier to carry, but since this is my day dreaming I'll take the m1A

That is a great Serial Number.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Since I've sold most of my collection, I had a little money left over for fun projects. This one came in a walnut stock but extracting cases began nicking the stock, so I decided to change the look and performance of the gun a little. Springfield was able to make a polymer stock for me, then I was off to the races. Because of the handguard rail, I am able to also have more mounting options for scout configuration. Both configs shoot very well...

In the People's Republic of Marylandstan, we can get them in 6.5 Creedmoor, but not in 7.62 Nato . I just don't understand.
