Going by memory, and that's spotty at best, the K98 uses the standard GEW98 large ring receiver while the 1924 Czech uses the large ring intermediate receiver that is slightly shorter. This will probably cause issues fitting it to a stock that isn't for a 1924, or VZ-24. I never tried the combination so for all I know the stocks may be cut for both receivers.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Does the K-98 have a stepped barrel ?

Actually JYD I'm pretty sure the VZ24 actually uses the exact same action length of a K98k it's the rear sight that's different. Atleast I've heard people claim that a VZ24 bolt will work in a K98 and vice versa. Theirs a couple posts on the gunboards forums about it. And a quick google search says the same thing but not my money to spend to find out. The people suggested to get a K98 bolt for replace on a vz24 didn't report back that it didn't work either so theirs that.

Vz 24 should fit fine. I know a Gew 98 fits a VZ stock. I stuck a poor butchered Gew 98 in a VZ 24 stock, and it looks better, if not right.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
