Romanian RPK
Romanian RPK
About a week ago, I received one of the Romanian RPKs that Atlantic Firearms has for sale and I am really pleased with the rifle so far. Mine was built from a non matching parts kit. With the exception of the new muzzle brake, and the bipod collar, the rifle pretty much looks like a legitimate surplus rifle. Atlantic also added a side scope mount which will come in handy (some people may not like this if they want as close to original as possible). I took the rifle to the range, and it was already sighted in. I added a Primary Arms 3x ACSS prism scope just to sight it in, and it was a joy to shoot. I was going to sell the scope and the mount, but my only two offers were low balls, so I kept both (glad I did). We dumped a 75 round drum after I had it sighted in, and the ammo disappeared so fast. I had no malfunctions or problems from the first trip. I don't work for Atlantic Firearms, and I hope this doesn't sound like an advertisement--just letting people know who may be interested that I'm happy so far with the one I got. YMMV though. I only have a few pics of the rifle that I took when I first got it. If I remember, I may add some photos of a range trip. I added a spare leather sling I had in my parts box (not shown)--it looks pretty good on the rifle as well.

Sweet!
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
C. S. Lewis
