Yup a good solid 3-3.5 inches of ice on Wildhorse lake.Didn't catch any but did have one good bite.
Still nice to get out tho.

I ain't ever seen those but I'm sure they would work.Brake Weight wrote:Beautiful backdrop. It’d be hard to telephone fish in that pond, though.
Can y’all use a Yo-Yo?

Bacon cheeseburgers.... yummy.Junk Yard Dog wrote:3" of ice between you and the abyss? Not nearly enough for me, 3' maybe, 4' would be better. Never much cared for fish, no way in hell I would freeze my ass off standing on ice, and probably falling in it, just so I could eat fish. Now if there were bacon cheeseburgers with crispy fries getting hooked out of there I would be all over that

Happens every year... Yes even up here..Junk Yard Dog wrote: I remember the story of somebody finding a couple of cars at the bottom of a lake someplace, both filled with skeletons. Both cars thought the ice was thick enough....it wasn't
Yup. Even lakers are better through the ice. I was waiting for Steve to ask how you chopped a hole big enough to cast in, but you spoiled it and showed the hole in your pic. We have another week or two before I might try the ice. My son is leaving me his ice fishing stuff, he's moving to southern Indiana. I might have to try it out. Looks like I might get the motorcycle he bought to fix up and never did, too. It needs the carbs rebuilt and something to replace the front fairing. One of those 'round tuit' tasks....Sonny wrote:haha..Rainbow trout out of ice water is mmmm mmmm good.SA1911a1 wrote:Damn Sonny, I ain't never seen a fish worth standing around on that stuff.
