Tula(?) stripper clip
Tula(?) stripper clip
Found this among a lot of stripper clips I bought some time ago. Only one I've seen with star stamp. Tula(?) Any thoughts?

The commies used the star for Tula, you will find some with the Izhevsk bow also. Keep them when you find them as the originals are better than any of the repops.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

It's a repro. Stripper clips were always produced only in Izhevsk, because there was located a metalurgical plant, it was a part of the Izhevsk weapon factory up to late 1930's. Same was with barrel and receiver blanks.

It wouldn't be worth the time to sell it anyway, ten cents maybe. Ratnik is a lot closer to the source of all the good stripper clips than anyone else here ( that I know of) I bet if some original clips showed up in that list in the For Sale section with all the front sight tools they would probably find a buyer. 25 years ago I bought about fifty original Izhevsk clips at a flea market , no eBay or GB back then. They are still in service, not that I use them often, but cumulatively over near three decades they have seen a lot of use.petevw54 wrote:Hmmmmm 2 different opinions. I'll hold onto it.

Didn't want to start a new topic about almost same subject.. I got this one from my neighbor. He told me that this stripper clip was captured by finnish long recoinnanse patrol (kaukopartio in finnish) during the continuation war. Decades later a veteran who took part of this patrol gave it to my neighbor man. I know that the picture (and the clip itself) is not ideal but I'm gonna give it a try.
PS. I try to find few rounds which were attached to the clip.

Most of mine came out of a spam can of '46 Russian ammo. No markings on them.
