10/22 Ruger

Post by Junk Yard Dog »

Walked in the door the other day, same seller sold me an identical one in the early 90's. Still have that one, shot probably 15-20,000 rounds in it over the years, no wear to be seen in that one either.

I gave my son my 10/22. It is a good rifle, but it just never blew my skirt up. I just like the old tube feeds better. (it may be my age showing)

About what is a 1022 bringing in the great state of New York these days?

Anybody ever had one of the little gatlin gun cranks that sit in the trigger guard? I don't see those in inventory any more, did these become verboten?

Never had one, but I do remember them. No idea, it probably vanished along with low priced , and plentiful .22 ammo. I have every form of .22, tube feed's, detachable mag semi and bolt, single shot, lots of them. I have the extended mags someplace for the 10/22 but I never used them, I like to spend my shots carefully and half the time I don't even fully pack the issue magazine. I have so many .22's by now that I don't even remember them all, lots of them are in storage, stuff like this spare 10/22, bought because it was cheap, there, and just " because" Military and civilian models.

I have a few .22's. I don't collect them but I have 7 Mossberg's, 3 or 4 10/22's, a few Remington's and various other commercial and military models.

My first rifle as a 16 year old. The Ruger 10/22 was a brand new product back then and it is still one of the best choices in a semi-auto .22 today. I have two (unfortunately not the original I had as a kid); a stainless with a laminated stock and a blued version with hardwood stock.

I had a 1022,but it got sold off. I kept my Marlin 60 though. I still like the tube mags.

I shot a Marlin 89 and later a marlin 60 for years, and still shoot them. The flush magazine design of the 10/22 lends itself well to shooting off a bench with sandbags, something I always liked about the 60 with it's tube feed.

I like both the Marlin 60 and the Winchester 190. I shoot the snot out of both of them. However, if I am shooting for bragging rights, or popping squirrels, I shoot a Chinese JW-15 bolt action .22.

I have a Win Mod 270. It is the pump version of your 190, IIRC.

I recently bought a GEMTECH suppressed barrel for a 10/22. Very accurate and very quiet. Lots of fun to shoot with subsonic ammunition.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

I keep a bag full of empty plastic bottles ifI want the .22's to be quiet, in case I have to put a hit on a racoon near were somebody might hear a rifle shot too close to the road. There seems to be an endless number of accessories for the 10/22.
