I think I would rather have one of those Southeast Asia bring backs than my Russian any day.

Grim times, when you see these you can't not think about if they took American lives or not. Mine was out of a crate of new rifles that had been stockpiled to arm the popular uprising the NVA expected during the Tet offensive, it killed no one, but the M52 sniper sure did, every time I look at it I see a wall of names . Very cool collection Howie, this is what the best milsurps look like, you can read the history on them. :)

Jungle patina is like no other firearm finish. It is quite unique.
No words of wisdom come to mind at this time....

Just to clear it up for you all I sure wish I owned those guns but they are from my vast collection of posted photos and referance material. I do not own any of them. I love the guns that have the been there and done that look about them

Chu wood is very rot resistant but like other wood types is attacked by termites.Termite damaged pieces I've seen have came from Viet Cong who would wrap them in oil soked rags and place them in the ground to hide them.Old French rifles would be found in similar shape.Weapons we took from NVA regulars were well maintained.

What is it with those beat to hell battle torn Simonovs being more appealing than NIB Simonovs?

I' would worry about any NVA / VC souls haunting me :wow:
