Matching 11th series Rope Hole Type 99 Arisaka

Post by lthilsdorf »

My "YouTube find" rope hole rifle showed up in the mail today and I was very excited to rip open the box, ha! This is my 3rd rope hole rifle, but by first all matching example. Only set me back $450 shipped.

It's an 11th series in the 90,000 range. It has a few interesting features to it:

-Still have a receiver with the dust cover grooves intact. I have another 11th series rope hole about 1,000 numbers away that has no grooves.
-Bolt has a long style extractor
-Rear barrel band is the type without a rear swivel base. My other 11th series rope hole have the type with a base for a swivel, but never had one installed
-Two nail, thick wooden butt plate

Looks like it's been in a closet for years. I'll just give a bit of oil and call it good. Overall I'm very excited to have a matching example. Now I'll just need to find one with a mum....haha!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
