I paid $99.00 for that one. And I had it in just 4 days from placing the order. I was amazed at how beautiful it looked when I took it from the box. The installation didn't take more than 10 minutes. I removed the front and rear trigger guard screws. (The rear one secures the back of the action). Then the front screw, and lifted the action right out. Set it into the Boyd's stock, and it fit absolutely perfectly. Replaced the trigger guard and all 3 screws, and she was ready for the range.
The inletting was perfect. I didn't touch a thing. The gun prints at 100 yards under a inch with 62 grain Sierra Matchkings and H-335 powder. And it looks so much better than that cheap, ugly plastic stock Marlin ships the X-7's with. Something I did latter the picture doesn't show, was to apply about 4 coats of Minwax Paste Wax, (this is the wax), to the stock, and hand buff it out.

It really brings out a nice shine to the wood. If I were to do it over, I would apply the wax before I set the barreled action into it. That way you could brush a generous amount into the barrel and receiver channel, and it would really protect the wood from any moisture. Here in Arizona we don't get too much rain, and this is strictly a range gun, so I'm not too concerned about it.
