With the various caliber firearms we have accumulated in our house, a lot of people ask questions like what is the difference between 303 and 7.62X54 and so on. So my wife suggested doing a display so people can see the size differences etc.
So I have spare ammo for all my commercial guns, and military ammo for most of my milsurps. There are two I will have to purchase an example of due to prices ($15.00 to $20.00 for one original not reproduction round) those 2 are 557 Snider - Enfield and 10.4X38 Swiss. Then there are the easily available rounds that I need to find milsurp ammo versus commercial.
So these are the ones I'm trying to locate one milsurp round for the display. So if anyone has milsurp copies of these rounds and are willing to part with one, I would be grateful.
6.5X50 Japanese
7.7X58 Japanese
7.62X39
7 MM Mauser
7.62X38
8x50R
ETA: Guess I'm also looking for a 8x50R, seeing the M95/30 was originally chambered for that round, I do have the 8x56R on hand.
Now for the opinionated questions. The Snider - Enfield would you just display a Snider - Enfield cartridge or would you also display the 557 Enfield round it used as a muzzle loader before the conversion? The 8mm round for the GEW 88, the cartridge originally had a rounded projectile, before going to the pointed projectile, would you display both rounds to show the evolution of the cartridge? Will already have a standard 8mm round displayed due to various 8mm rifles I own.
My wife envisions this display with room to add additional cartridges, as weapons in other calibers are aquired. She's going to label what each round is, design the shadow box, and put it all together. My part is getting the ammo and labeling what it is, so she'll know what it is. Which I've already did with the 15 calibers of ammo I have on hand.

Re: Ammo Display
I have all the calibers shown and even the round nose 8mm. Problem is getting them to you, they would have to go Fedex and the shipping charges would smart a little.

Re: Ammo Display
Cool, what would FedEx normally run from Ohio to Florida? Trying to figure it out online but the answers are all over the place. Other than ground shipping and the ORM-D label the FedEx site isn't helping much. Maybe I'm just too dumb to figure it out.Longcolt44 wrote:I have all the calibers shown and even the round nose 8mm.
