Red likes pheasant hunting

Post by entropy »

I go pheasant hunting at a game farm with a guy I work with occasionally. We had birds set yesterday morning (he didn't even have to set them himself; he also works at the hunt club.) I asked my younger son Red if he wanted to come along, and he did. We had 6 birds set, plus there are a zillion scratch birds out there. Red had his brother's 870 (the one in the pic) I had my Grandpa's old single shot H&R that he hunted pheasants all over North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota with. It has a hair trigger, to the point that I will deactivate it, as I shot several time when I wasn't expecting it! :shock: So did Bob, after the rear trigger guard screw on his 311 came off; we'd taken the trigger guard off, and he sure enough bumped it. :lol: Shot a dirt clod into the air. I was hoping he'd shot the dog-we used the club's dog, his was sick. The club dog kept running 75 yards or more in front of us, despite Bob shocking her repeatedly. Despite the dog, we ended up with 2 pheasants; Red got one, and I got one. Here's a pic of Red's:

Maybe it's the internet or something, but he looks more "orange" then "red". ;mywink;

Have never got to go peasant pheasant hunting in my life. Sounds like fun. Maybe after I retire and move.

Nice catch, I don't think we have any left around here, the bobcats ate them all. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :vcool:
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
