Virgin AR15

Post by Darryl »

I realized, ...... I have never put a round through this ar15 yet. I built it (all STAG parts). It is all compliant and has none of the mag release buttons and gimicks. It's doesn't have to because all of the "evil features" have been removed. It's my "what if the crap hits the fan" rifle. You can get .223 (5.56) ammo anywhere. Nice and short and easy to handle (compact). I need to go fire it I guess!!!

If you don't have time or a place to shoot it, you can USPS it to the shop here and I'll test it for you and give you a written report. Please enclose a return ticket.

Cool! I'm interested in how the grip angle feels when you fire it. It looks awkward, but I'm sure a lot of that is perception.

I think it's weird that since it's "sanitized" that you don't have to have the bullet button. I figured that was mandated on all of them regardless. I learned something new today.

It`s a shame they couldn`t mold that abortion so the pistol grip was at the correct angle and then have a hole for the thumb. Probably wasn`t allowed.

It's called featureless. No difference then any semi auto.

The rear grip is the same as using a standard stock rifle. It's comfortable.

Nope, I would return it. Otherwise we would have to put it in our books and all that FFL crap. It may take me quite a time to return it but return it I would do.

Yea, a proper test requires more than one range trip, weather and work would cause delays in range trips, then the apocalypse might start delaying things more, but in the end it would be returned. The ageing test for the finish would take the longest, the only way to determine the ability of the finish to resist deterioration over time would be to hang it on the wall and watch it for 50 years just to be sure.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
