The gun industry as a whole is in what is being labeled," The Trump Slump". Business is in the crapper. We still have the same AK's and AR's we had back in Feburary. Even the, "Lookie Loos", don't want to fondle them. What is selling are handguns for CCW. Even the milsurps we have are moving very slowly. We have some nice K98's and Enfields and of course Mosins but they are just sitting. There are even a few days the not one person came in. This is not just us,it is industry wide.

At my store things are slow as well. We sell a little ammo & few guns. .22lr is in good supply & I damn near couldn't give it away!

I think everyones pocketbooks are still recovering from the past decade.

The gun and ammo "slump" is due to people loosing their fear of economic collapse, government takeover, getting over their idea of having to "bug out". The ammo supply had gotten squeezed, and demand for SHTF rifles was soaring, but not any more. When the economy recovers a little more, things will return to SNAFU. I reckon so. I'm thinking this Forum, will have a great effect with future collector's, it will be interesting to kick back and see. Or keep buying 1-2 ........ say maybe 9 per yr. Just 9 more.

Milsurps still sell but the market has moved to either end of the spectrum, those who buy rifles based upon cheap ammo, and older savy collectors who thanks to the Internet now have unlimited knowledge at there fingertips and usually have a lot more discretionary income.

As far as EBR's and AK's, we'll that market saturated itself back in December of 2012 after Newtown. My LGS sold more firearms in the next 3 months then he did in the previous 2+ years. Now he won't even stock an AR or AK since they just sit in the racks for months on end, if you want one he can order it and have it in 3-5 days.

It sounds like prices and sales are down across the board. Dealers in NJ are hurting so bad they are hoping Murphy wins and changes the laws to match CA. This way they will at least have compliance work to do. Saw this while secretly logged into a dealer only chat. I can't wait for SCOTUS to rule the laws Unconstitutional and put all of them who could care less about 2A Rights out of business.

Along with a new Supreme Court member., there have been 60 + new Federal judges appointed this year. The "fake news" aren't reporting it. Their focused on tweets about football and shit.

I can't wait to escape to freedom. Just across the river. I'm not too happy with a lot of dealers. They are not on our side. They like profiting off Unconstitutional Laws. They were saying half of them would be out of business. I say good. Force competition and $25 transfers.

1943 M39 Tikka $664.

http://www.gunbroker.com/item/707681692

Almost bought a M39 Tikka for $1,200 then seller offered it for $1,000 just a few months ago. 2 Tikkas sold for $2,000 on gunbroker this year. Now I will wait for $500 or less to buy one.

The bubble continues to deflate.

the guns we want are showing up. My son and his friends are not interested in old guns. Collections are coming on the market. If retired and in funds, guns are available at lower cost than last year. God Bless America. Pro Libertate Patria.

Yes it is a buyer's market. I expect not only lower prices, but better selection.

Those over full retirement age who were thinking about selling at the beginning of the year will soon start scrambling to sell before everything bottoms out.

I would hate to be one of the guys who paid $1k+ for RC Mausers from Classic, or any of their overhyped and overpriced offerings this year.

Or any year!! :chuckles:

It's like buying a Mitchel's Mauser. The only difference is, a Mitchell's sticks out like a bad turd. There is no question what it is and where you got it and you can't even lie about the price you bought it for. :chuckles:

Mitchells?, I'll go $75 for it, good for a deer rifle anyway, or something I loan to somebody who might drop it on range day.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I had to break a guy's heart at my FFL over the summer. He was transferring 3 Mausers and the guy wouldn't shut up explaining how great they were to my FFL and how he got a deal paying $1,250 each for them. My FFL knows nothing about Milsurps. I could see across the room they were Mitchell's Mausers which I told him they were. He then proudly said "How did you know?" and showed me the COA. I then broke it to him they were fakes and maybe as shooters all 3 were worth $1,000 but as collectors they were worth $0. He left the office not too happy.
