British Enfield Sniper No.4 Mk1(T) SMLE 303

Post by Miller Tyme »

Took a flier at an Enfield No.4 Mk1 Sniper today, some unanswered questions about this rifle, but it was the consensus of several respected collectors that I couldn't get hurt for the price.

All that's left now is the waiting. :crazy.gif:

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

nice find MT. Your search for a transit box and contents can sometimes outweigh the price of the rifle.

Can you educate the uneducated on some of the unanswered questions. I couldn't look at one and tell you if it was real, re-snipered, reproduction (Not meant to deceive), or outright fake (Meant to deceive).

Does the scope have a maker's name? Is it 4 power?

Just received the rifle and as I am typing this there are countless experts looking it over to help me determine if I got a Legit P.O.F. No4 Mk1 (T) or a good deal on a No32 Mk3 scope and mount.

Still gathering info on my No4Mk1 (T), but it looks like it isn't POF ( Pakistani Ordinance Factory ) marked, but rather ROF marked. Some consensus is starting to build that what I have is a very rare early production Fazakerley No4 Mk1 that was converted to a (T) by Enfield, before H&H took over producing them.

Should have more info early next week,

One of my 3 "most wanted" . I don't like any of the Mk.4 sights, I prefer the Mk. 1. Having the scope would be gnarly.
