North Korea is no more or no less than a weapon in China's arsenal. The Chinese are using NK to play us like a fiddle. The North Korean problem is a China problem; to eliminate the NK threat, we would have to deal with the Chinese. The Chinese could lock down their borders and the North Koreans would come around or starve in a matter of a few months. They don't want the North Korean problem solved.

We have transferred tremendous wealth to the Chinese over the last half century to benefit of the few in the US. The Chinese have used that wealth and economic power to paint us into an economic and military corner. The only real weapon we can bring to bear on the situation includes war on the Chinese. War on the Chinese requires the use of Nuclear weapons. If we launched on China, Russia would follow with preemptive strikes. If the nuclear genie is let out of the bottle, by anyone, the escalation that follows renders the world untenable for human life, no matter how well someone thought they were prepared. The Chinese know all of this and have calculated that we will not use a nuclear option, therefore the situation will develop as benefits the economic and military of the Chinese.

You sir, have your head screwed on straight. China has us by the economic balls, and they know it. China is in control now, we're just waiting to see how they want it to play out.

The rules have changed, new administration, like Putin discovered you just never know what they might do. I believe we will stumble into war after someone makes a stupid mistake and things get quickly out of hand. Like Hitler thinking England and France would never go to war over Poland. Shit happens when your juggling running chain saws.

We bombed buildings Qaddaffi could have been in as well as other targets, if he got hit by accident then we're sorry, our bad, we did not send in a hit squad to take him out. If you kill a head of state of another country they may well do the same to your head of state. In any case it's worth far more to try and get the enemy head of state alive after the conflict is over. That way you can put him on trial in front of TV cameras and let everyone know every last sick thing the shithead did, then hang him.

I wasn't talking about Reagan I was referring to Obama and Clinton. Both who violated International Law. Clinton promised him safe passage, and while traveling under white flag Obama ordered a drone strike on his caravan. The rest as they say is history.

In the end we stood back and allowed his people to kill him. It's one thing to "accidentally" kill a head of state in a bomb or drone attack. These things can later be explained away as chance events that happen in a war zone, bombs don't stop and ask who is in the caravan, or building before they blow it up, shit happens. It's another matter to infiltrate a hit team into a country and take out the resident top shithead with a well aimed rifle bullet, poison, a well planted bomb. We tried that shit with Castro in Cuba, it didn't work, but when our own president was taken out we looked and are still looking at Cuban or Soviet involvement. Well we should have given what our own CIA was up to with the Castro thing. We protect our leaders but a suicide squad hell bent on their mission could get lucky, you can bet the DPRK has agents in this country, and if so tasked they will go after our leadership. The best way is to get the other guys own people to go after him and do the job themselves.

If not get 1/2 the weight outa that pack. At least 1/2.
Not only that, but these guys end up with serious back problems in the future. GI's who humped during the wars, end up with problems just as bad as retired football players.

Just one thing to think about. They don't have a ICBM that can carry a nuke to the USA or Hawaii. It's on thing to have one that will fly that far (which they do), it's another to have one that can "reenter" the Atmosphere with a nuke on it and not burn up. THAT, is what is stopping them right now. Reentry. Once they get that, we are screwed and limited at to what we can do and how far we can push them.

Our capabilities to knock a ICBM down is limited at best. Anything that stays in the atmosphere (non-ICBM) we can take down. But ICBM's....no so easy. I think it's around 40%. Only way to do it and make a pretty good try is to launch multiple rockets at a ICBM and hope one of them get it.

This country is at a turning point right now. What they decide to do in the next few years will determine how we will be able to deal with them.

We had all the ingredients right here in the US, and the world's best mind trained in atomic physics. And it still took almost too long. Any fissionable material NK gets will be from Russia or China. Russia has the most raw uranium in the world, followed by the US and China. And you know we aren't giving them any. (Unlike Iran :angry4: ) Then he's got to rely on very unreliable former Soviet nuclear engineers who want a paycheck, but not NK having nukes. (He's nuts enough to send some West, too.) Probably why the missile tests more often fail than succeed, (happens even to us) and why he doesn't have any weapons grade fissionable material yet? Why do I think that? Because that fat little weasel will use it, as soon as he has it. He'll hit Japan, or Guam, because that's as far as he can get. I expect there will be a non-nuclear response if that happens.
If Steve is right, there are two other factors that China apparently hasn't considered; Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump are both unpredicatable, and often fly in the face of logic.
