The rifle has strong shiny rifling, has its share of dings, some from issue, some from poor import handling. I almost sold this one....but could not!
Enjoy the pics!

Thanks! It is fun when you get a chance to see em in good light, the camera allows one to see things you miss when you handle em.Lotema wrote:

This one cost me quite a bit more than that, but I did find a 1938 28-30 for 95 bucks about 12 years ago, tis a joy to own, esp at a decent price. Back in the late 1980's, I was into cheap Swedish Mausers and Chinese SKS's, locally you could buy a SKS and IIRC a 1200 round case of 7.62x39 ammo for a hundred bucks as well.....I sure do wonder what I missed at the shows back in the day....Junk Yard Dog wrote:The rifle looks very similar to one I bought for under $40 30 years ago and was my range Mosin for a couple of decades. I went and checked, it's still there so you are in the clear .

Junk Yard Dog wrote:I remember the Chinese SKS glut, you couldn't get away from them, AK's also. I only bought a few that were actual military surplus or vet bringhomes, my focus was on bigger and better things at the time. Garands, M1903's, US M1917's, M1 carbines, Krag's, trapdoors, Enfields, Mauser's, Arisakas. Carcanos, Berthiers, Lebels, Martini's, Vetterlis, Mosins, and so on.
