PL marked Tula Finn capture 91/30

Post by racerguy00 »

When it rains it pours. This is the 2nd of three Finn capture Tulas I've brought home recently. I dropped by a local shop that mostly deals in black rifles etc and this rifle and an m44 stuck out. I gladly paid their asking price and hurried out before they changed their mind. (Refurb price give or take a little)

1939 Tula, Has that hard to find poulustislaitos stamp that's so hard to find since it was only used for a few months. Tula stock dated 38 or 39, no matching numbers. Well used but servicible bore. SA marked but no D mark. The tractor belt sling I added, it looks right at home on this one.

I'm really digging this rifle!

It looks like something I should have in my collection, especially since your wood pile looks like my wood pile. ;)

Very nice rifle and your right, that tractor belt sling is perfect on it.

Awesome rifle, don't get much better congrats. I believe that's the first I've seen with the PL stamp so high on the shank. :vcool:

Mighty fine  All the '39 Tula I've had were super shooters...very close to M 39's. I wonder if Stalin ordered, this year, all Mosins are to be made with extra precision. He saw what was about to happen.

I think you did great on this one. It was a good thing you stopped in and rescued it from all of the "assault rifles" :)

This PL "Field Stamped" version is much more uncommon than the "rolled" PL stamps as found on some of the early 1941 SAKO M39s. Great find.
