I remember the time I shot at stacked targets like that and had nice center mass groups on the upper target, only problem was that I was aiming for the bottom target! Them dang Mosins don't like shooting at 50 yards sometimes. At least not the Russian refurbs. :)

I just got a '39 and '37 Tula refurbs that put 'em all in the X @ 50 yd. Some do and some don't. This is the fourth '39 Tula I've had, all excellent shooters. Second to M-39's.

I just picked up a few boxes of 8mm Mauser at Cabelas-none of the shops in Tucson carry it or 303 British. Whenever I go to Phoenix, I make a point to stop at Cabelas or Bass Pro. Next task is to get dies for the 7.62x45. Once I have them, I'll be able to form my own brass. Ironically, the brass I need to form new 7.62x45 cases is one of the few things I need that is readily available locally.

Isn't the 7.62x45 the super expensive die set to buy?

I should also mention that you can form the brass for the 7.62x45 with 7.62x39 dies and reload using the same as long as you account for the longer overall case length. You will have to do a bit of trimming and may have to turn the rim diameter down, depending on the parent case you use to form the brass. I just did a production run of approximately fifty cases formed from 220 Swift.
