Price Check...
I picked up this tin in a trade. Seller says this is WW2 M2 ball Garand ammo re packed in the 50's. I have enough Greek stuff that I shouldn't need to open it. Any idea of value? Thanks in advance.

Re: Price Check...
WW2 M2 ball is corrosive primed, M2 stayed that way until at least 1954, other countries kept corrosive primers much longer, well into the 70's in Korea. Without knowing the headstamp or if it's on the clip it's hard to say and I am too blind to see that label on the can. a hundred bucks at the least depending on how many rounds are stuffed in there. This is collector grade stuff, use the Greek for shooting .
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Price Check...
Doing an internet search I can not find any WW2 M2 ball available for sale. Thanks for telling me it is corrosive. Like I said I did not plan on opening it but if I offer it up for trade I need the buyer to be aware. I imagine it may be worth more to a collector.

Re: Price Check...
About 10 years ago I walked into my local ammo and reloading supplier and there was a can of the Lake Cities surplus for 85.00. At least I think it was LC. I didn't buy it because at the time I was buying cans of Mosin ammo and SKS ammo. Besides I didn't have a 30-06 weapon. I see them on Brokegunner from time to time for 200 plus. Sure wish I had bought it. I have never seen a can like you have here. Looks like a excellent find.

I have not seen one like it either but I am new to American weapons. I mostly deal in Mosins. Pretty cool can though. 200 WW2 rounds repacked at Hawthorn Army Depot.

I had some of the original 50's spam cans, 400+ rounds a can I think they were.
