Yugo Mausers

Which flavor of the post-war Yugoslavian Mauser rebuilds is the most desirable these days?

All the Yugo Mauser's are pretty good Steve, I never handled one that I could say was a piece of shit yet. Good workhorse rifles, no frills but they get the job done just like the German ones.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

All the ones I've seen have had great barrels on them. I own two M24/47's and the barrels are damn near pristine.

You like straight or turned bolts?

Yugo Mausers, and actually their other military arms, are usually very nice. The way they were stored created some very nice surplus rifles. You may see one every so often that is subpar... but not normal.

I have a M48A (Mauser), M59/66A1 (SKS with grenade launcher; I also have a Serbian practice rifle grenade and blanks [emoji41]), and M57 (Tokarev). All are like they were tossed in a time capsule.

I have several already and would only buy another as an investment opportunity. (cheap) What I am trying to determine is a consensus on the desirability of the various models. In other words, with all things equal, would a 24/47 or an M-48 or one of the several other models, stir more interest in the general buying public, or are they considered equal in perceived quality and value?

I like all the Yugo's from M-24 through the M-52C and have examples of each. I guess, if I were pressed, I prefer the Model 24 and the 24/47 the most. I kind of think that those two would likely be the best investment. But, what do I know?... It seems that in recent years a ton of very nice M-48's were released and bought up. They don't seem to be appreciating much now. But, that could all change based on this crazy market we are in now.

I have several. All good shooters. In Arizona you can buy them for $250-300 at a lot of sporting good stores.

I like the M24 because it is Pre Tito. If your going to go with a later one the M48 can usually be found in the best condition, but I did sell a mint M24/47 for $470 last month. I say the M48 is the best bang for your buck.
